    Probably not the way you want to get Bowls into the press, rare to have Umps and Officials abused down our way.

    Must be something in the water!!

    Come to more-civilized Devon - haven't yet heard of it happening here, but it's the way of the world, it seems.

    I see the club in the photo at the head the article isn't on the list of the clubs said to be potentially affected - is there one of that name in Cornwall? I know there's one at Brixham in Devon.

    Water - get mine from a borehole in the field.

    I remember a Devon bowler Griff Sanders got a hefty ban from Devon Officials,seem to think it was about 16 years ago!!!

    It's said he was the 'inspiration' for the film Blackball's main character! They kept many of Sanders' traits in it - including the lengthy ban.

    Yeah Blackball was inspired by Griff, funny film!

    Parts were a bit 'naff, but overall it was quite enjoyable. Must get it out and watch it again.

    I played against Griff in a Middleton Cup Semi Final about 2011, he's a really nice guy, had a chat with him after the game and came across as a quiet lad.
    The film was in 2003.
    Giving Federation another go,
